Writing Of Rupees And Paise:
We can write 1 rupee as Rs. 1.00. Here the point or the dot separates the rupees from paise. For example to write 2 rupees and 75 paise we will put a dot between 2 and 75 as follows
2 rupees and 75 paise = Rs.2.75
We will not write paise in the end as we placed a dot between 2 and 75.
Similarly
13 rupees and 28 paise = Rs.13.28
7 rupees and 5 paise = Rs.7.05
Representing Values In Terms Of Words And Digits:
For example Suppose Amit has a 50 - rupee note and a 50 - paise coin. In words, we express this amount as "Rs. fifty and paise fifty." In figures, we express this amount as "Rs. 50 rupees 50 paise or Rs. 50.50".
